Val Andrews Spookshow Stoppers Bizarre Fright Night

aVl andrews. Spook-show stoppers.

A complete 20 to 30 miunte presentation for the stage performerfrom the introduction by val andrews armed with this manuscript, plus a small amount of capital and a tremendous amount of energy, an enterprising performer can build a ghost show which. Will be a most bookable proposition.

For this si one of the few magical specialities which has never been overworked. In this manuscript i have aimed at simplicity adn economy.

The fellow with a few hundred pounds to spend on a ghost-show will be able to elaborate on the ideas without help from me. I have aimed at the performer of moderate means who wants an original novelty which he can build and rehearse at home in his spare time.

Also i have deliberately avoided making the routine too gruesome, or too complicated. By cutting the number of regular assistants down to two, i feel i have put a presentation of this type within the reach of almost every performer. oG forth and haunt! Â? A complete ghost-show. For stage or concert-platform. The show, as seen by the audience the curtain rises on full stage, set with large dark-lined cabinet rear-centre. The performer stands centre-stage. A little to his right is a table bearing a miniature house. To his left a slender stand from which hangs a tambourine.
The performer explains that whilst appearing to be alone on the stage he really has a company of spirits with him, for example his pet ghost oscar who is invisible. Oscar makes his presence known by pulling the performer's handkerchief from his breast pockte and placing it in his hand. The performer puts the handkerchief back in his pocket, btu oscar does it again' oscar then drinks a glass of beer the liquid is seen to leave the glass, and the orchestra or pianist plays show me the way to go home.
In order that oscar may do this, the performer opens the little house by raising the roof ot let him in. Once home, oscar materialises and leaps out in visible form, a cute little ghost indeed! The performer shows the house empty, then closes it and replaces it on teh table. Oscar performs a macabre dance to the number dance macabe and eventually becomes so troublesome that the performer catches him, waves him in the air, causing him to get smaller and smaller, finally disappearing altogether' yet when the house is opened again, oscar is once more inside. The performer now gives a brief description of the troublesome spirit known as a poltergeist, and explains that he has captured one, and keeps it in a packing case.
He crosses to the wings, returns with the packing case which he rests no the slender stand on his left, though still steadying it with his left hand. The audience can see the inside of hte crate, it is black lined. The performer places the tambourine inside the crate and the poltergeist throws it otu again. This si repeated several times. Eventually the spirit answers questions by banigng on the tambourine in code etc, and finishes it's performance by imitating the salvation army!
The performer asks the audience how they would like to contend with a whole houseful of poltergeists, and shows them what might happen via the large dakr lined cabinet which stands rear stage. A white painted table, bearing white bell, tambourien and other small objects is placed inside the cabinet. The spirits go to work and have a high old time levitating, banging and throwing the objects around finally throwing the table and its objects out of the cabinet. A committee from the audience are invited onto the stage. The cabinet is turned in all directions and the committee are invited to enter it and walk right throguh it. They are then seated at the side of the stage and the cabinet turned to face the audience again.

Various articles, pilfered from the committee's pockets by the spirits, now materialise and are thrown out of the cabinet to be reclaimed! As they reclaim their property the cmomittee members leave the stage.

The climax is near when the performer throws a white shroud into teh cabinet and it takes ghost-like shape! The ghost, in its shroud leaves the cabinet and approaches the performer who pulls away the shroud to reveal a terrifying creature complete with frankenstein-like countenance! Requirements ambitious as all tihs may sound, it requires a minimum of properties and only two assistants and one principal performer. If you wish you can probably play it a full 30 minutes though 20 minutes is better length for this type of show. The only prop which will require much in hte way of capital is the big cabinet, and even this you can make yourself at a minimal cost.
